October 30, 2008

I am taking in how tweeps are interacting on Twitter and I am slowly redefining my engagement on there. I will use this method to do more posting. If I attend a conference or have something more to post I plan on using this blog to do this.

I am really psyched that I received wonderful comments on my youtube video from Mishnock the other week. I think folks may possibly use the feed which is a combined group of demos I put together and posted. I think I tagged them properly and folks are stumbling upon them. It is very exciting to get some positive interactions with others who are passionate about dancing.

I am also excited that my blogging of Averey, my new addition to my family, is going well. I do not know if there is a readership there, but I created it more for my mom to see that she is doing well and adjusting in a healthy way.

I am very interested and exciting about social networking and web 2.0 and its possibilities to be used in an educational setting. I spoke and shared ning with a faculty member for a project today and I think this may be a positive way to collaborate for her project. I am so excited about this, this is also a week after I created a group for students and alumni of another class. I hope these grow positively and the outreach helps build a very cool community for these ventures.

There is an event taking place here at work next thursday, which is called "flip side." Our new management is interested in getting to know our interests outside of work. I am at a point where I am not interested in sharing my creativity and activities outside of work with people who are strangers to me. If someone is truly intersted, I believe they will take the time and attend a social. Plus my focus is spread through many different interests. Being a creative person, I like to keep that side of me a bit concealed and private, like religion. Today I was contacted directly to share line dancing, but that is not my only favorite thing and it never has been. So, it is very difficult. I did offer classed to teach line a while ago and had interest from 2 people, so the interest is not here. If folks are truly passionate they will get out and really own it like I do. But it is also a community. I can not place that in a can and bring it. And I am not interested in being a solo dancer.
